The Women’s Spiritual Leadership Alliance, Inc. (WSLA) was formed in 1987 as a support group for Pagan women in the Denver area community who were leaders and teachers. The purpose is to help each other develop and further their skills, be resources to one another, share traditions, information and common interests while supporting and respecting each other's ways and opinions.
Who are the members of WSLA? As individuals and as a group the membership is comprised of women leading/teaching in the Pagan community or who are in training to do so. WSLA is a sisterhood. We are women who are active in the community and are engaged in creating bonds and positive experiences for the greater community. We show respect and appreciation for the diverse ways of expressing individual and group Pagan spirituality. In addition, the members of WSLA work to enhance and support the greater Pagan community with events, seminars, donations of time and funds to other groups’ outreach efforts while also providing public education to counteract negative images of Paganism and Wicca.
WSLA members contribute to the work of other organizations such as Safehouse, battered women's shelters, the March of Dimes, Living Earth, the Religious Anti-Defamation League and Hotei - a local children's food service, as well as many other groups.
Membership in WSLA is by invitation only to women who are in balance in their spiritual and mundane lives. We are not a coven but at times we function like one. As a spiritual sisterhood, we sometimes discuss private, intense experiences that our group members are navigating. In this intimate environment it is imperative that each member feels safe and knows that sharing her experience is private and that we will treat it with the utmost confidence and privacy.
